This is a quote that often highlights the struggle many of the women in our program face. Systemic poverty, generational trauma, and ingrained patterns of behavior all contribute to many of the problems our women are battling. At All Among Us we believe creating opportunities for our residents must come from our seven pillars of success. These fundamental pillars help to give each of our residents the tools they need to become self-sufficient, empowered, and ready to thrive in society.
We weave elements of each of these pillars into their day to day lives. There is not a one-size-fits-all approach to recovery, nor is there a series of simple steps that will predict future success. Rather, we help each woman in our community craft a pathway for their future through these pillars.
Women learn to be accountable for personal finances including all current personal debt. Then ladies develop a realistic plan to pay down debt and assess funds available for transportation, housing, and medical needs. Women open checking and savings accounts with St. Louis Community Credit Union and learn to use online banking.
Women with addiction are active weekly in their recovery. Recovery is their ‘job’ when they enter the Center. All Among Us partners with Salvation Army, Queen of Peace, and local AA/NA for recovery opportunities. In the beginning, women often are involved in recovery 20+ hours a week.
Our residents take part in several household activities to help them with practical life skills. To offer these life skills we help with teaching domestic and household responsibilities through tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and gardening. Together our residents build a happy home in our facility, fostering life skills they carry with them out into the world.

A healthy life starts with both a healthy mind and body. We facilitate regular appointments with our resident’s psychiatrist, counselors, and primary care physician. We practice mindfulness in our facility to foster a peaceful and calm environment for healing hearts and minds.
The Women’s Care Center offers distance from unhealthy family patterns, in a safe and nurturing environment, to help our residents gain perspective and healing. Our ladies become involved with healthy relationships through the Center, church, community events, and their recovery community. They practice boundaries to foster healthier connections with family and friends. When that is not possible, our community often becomes the family our residents need to move forward.
The ladies become experts in navigating the public transportation system for recovery, work, appointments, visiting family, and shopping. Prior to purchasing a vehicle, the women strive to be debt free.
We continue our programs with the generous support from our partners. We are not bound by deadlines and milestones required by government funding which means we can offer a customized program to the women in our care.
Please help us continue our mission and create real change by helping women achieve independence, self-reliance, and dignity through compassionate care.
